The sterilizer is based on the principle that the microbiological action of saturated steam at elevated temperatures is rapid and thorough. All models work on the downward displacement of air principle, which is the most economical method of obtaining all types of bulk sterilization that are commonly needed in medical, agricultural, and pharmaceutical institutes.
It is suitable for sterilizing hospital dressings, linen, rubber and plastic goods, surgical instruments, glassware, utensils, etc.
The sterilizer has a robust and rugged all-weld construction that is leak-proof. The inner chamber is made of a thick plate of high-quality stainless steel, and the jacket is made out of rolled stainless steel sheet.
Sterilizers will have a single door made out of thick stainless steel plate. All the sterilizers are hydraulically tested to withstand 2.5 times the working pressure.
The steam jacket is lined on the outer side with glass wool, which prevents heat losses due to radiation, and is covered by a strong rolled steel sheet, duly powder coated.
Made of a thick stainless steel plate suitably located under the sterilizer. High-grade flanged-type heating elements are fitted from the front side for easy replacement or repair. Fitted with a water gauge glass for water level, a safety valve, and water inlet and drain valves. It is also provided with a low water level cutoff device. This device protects the heater in the generator from burning out. The steam pressure in the boiler is indicated on an individual pressure gauge.
Every horizontal rectangular sterilizer is fitted with a self-locking safety door that cannot be opened when the chamber is under pressure.
The clutch mechanism automatically disengages the threads of the radial locking system, precluding any eventuality of an accident when the chamber is under pressure. A heat-resistant Neoprene rubber gasket ensures a steam-tight fitting.
Electrically operated “PIEZOSTAT” (Pressure Control Device) is incorporated in all sterilizers. It acts as a safety device, economises power consumption and limits the use of a release valve which would frequently blow steam into the room.
It cuts off the power supply to heaters when the set pressure is achieved and re-energizes heaters when pressure falls down.
Complete sterilization cycle is controlled from one point with the help of a “Multiport valve” fitted at the front top. Two speeds of exhaust are available for evacuating.
Valves provided for evacuating air and steam from the inner chamber and jacket as and when desired. A steam trap is fitted in the chamber discharge line to eliminate the condensate automatically.
The control panel includes a pressure switch, a microprocessor based digital temperature indicator cum controller, Mains MCB, pilot lamps, relays etc. and mounted on the stand of the sterilizer for easy operation.

Sterilizing pressure: 1.2 to 1.5 kg/cm2 (15 psi to 22psi)
