WATER BATH INCUBATOR SHAKER (Metabolic): SMI -144A

This is a desktop model designed for studies on tissue metabolism, enzymes, protein coagulation, or other experiments requiring the shaking of subject matter at constant speed under a controlled temperature environment. 

The basic construction is double-walled with a 100% leak-proof inner chamber of thick polished stainless steel sheet and a smooth inside working surface. The outer body is made of mild steel, duly powder coated. The lid, made of thick, polished stainless steel sheet, prevents the formation of condensed water droplets on the specimens. The space between the two walls is packed tightly with high-grade glass wool to prevent heat loss and ensure a constant temperature. Heating is achieved by a high-quality immersion type heater, and temperature is controlled by a capillary hydraulic type thermostat from ambient to 100°C ± 0.5°C. The shaking mechanism comprises a variable-speed motor fixed on the left side and coupled to the shaking tray, which shakes linearly to and fro on ball rollers moving in guides that are greased for smooth motion.

The shaking speed can be controlled between 40 and 140 cycles per minute. The shaking tray can either hold test tubes or flasks of 25 ml, 50 ml, or 100 ml capacity, as ordered by the users. The front panel includes switches for ON/OFF mains, an rpm regulator, and indicators. It also includes a thermostat control knob, a speed control knob, and an L-shaped thermometer to indicate the inside temperature. 

The incubator is designed to operate on a 220V single-phase AC supply (a model with a 110V supply is also available).
